Robomofos — short for Robots Made of Found Objects — are created by Robert Andrews, at his workshop in the Orkney Islands. Robert collects metal objects from skips, scrap yards and the cluttered sheds of neighbours. An array of previously discarded items with various histories and stories, such as kettles, light fittings and car parts gather in his workshop.

From here, he uses his artistic eye and understanding of form to combine and arrange these shapes into all kinds of lively robot characters, igniting new life in items others might throw away.  Customers enjoy working out what elements comprise the body parts of their new robot companions.

Each robomofo evokes a unique personality, waiting to be appreciated and built on by customers of all ages.  If you feel chosen by one of Robert’s robots or would like to request a commission, you can get in touch at robomofos@gmail.com
